dead fish hats

Knitty’s pattern for Dead Fish Hats really caught Fiona’s imagination. With help from Simone, they made 5 hats  for their team to wear in the recently held Round the Vines Fun Walk/Run in Martinborough. Fiona used a variety of yarns, a great project to use up oddments. These pics were taken before Fiona embellished the eyes.

Raewyn’s swatch for her new lace masterpiece. Patience is a virtue…….it’s a little tricky casting on the shawl and can take several attempts even for an experienced lace knitter. Well worth the time and effort, our group can attest to Raewyn’s amazing lace creations.

Fiona’s octopus, and a recent addition to her stash from Knitsch……a very yummy colour mix.

My leaf blankey is going to look gorgeous! I’m rapt with the leaves. It’s an awesome design…you just knit about 20 rows and then right before your eyes a leaf pops out, very clever.

Enid is knitting a  cardy in  10 ply, she isn’t so sure about the colourway but we love it.

Next time we see Raewyn’s little shawl it will have been washed and blocked. Lindsay is almost finished her shawl as well. Simone began a lacey little shrug in an oranges and lemons colour mix 4 ply multi. My extra ball of Naturally yarn finally arrived today. Maybe now I’ll finish Raziel’s jersey over the weekend, hmm …those leaf squares are pretty addictive though……
