iKnit’s first meet for 2012 this week ….. it was great catching up with the crew, hearing holiday stories and about what’s been happening on the needles over the break:
Shawl collars are one of my all time faves. So snuggly and cosy, the classic turned over edge, just love them! The pattern is from Patons book 1270, pattern#7; Patons classic merino DK in the most divine shade of cerise, another favourite. This is a unisex pattern with 4 interchangeable neck options. Finished this over the holidays and started my lawn green aran jersey which is on the home stretch. Just as well, I have a swag of projects lined up for the grandbaby’s. It’s been a real joy to knuckle down and work on things for myself though. With no room for sentimentality there’ll be a ruthless woollens draw cull and a trip to the Sallies coming up.
Shawlette almost finished by Raewyn. A touch of luxury sheen with the additon of silk to the yarn.
Shawlette finished, this one knit by Simone using hand dyed 4ply merino by James of J.O.Y. All that’s left to be done is sew on 3 buttons to hold in place.
Karen will likely have this little number done and dusted tomorrow! Chunky and smooshy yarn for this hat destined for shop display.
Fiona and Simone each working on the same project (Sock Yarn Blanket) and making it their own by putting their individual spin on the interpretation. If you’re a socker, you may be interested in the pattern idea which is a J.O.Y creation.
Janette from Briar Patch joined us this week, her WIP is completing a garment started by someone else. Not an easy task, Janette’s doing a jolly fine job making it her own.
Wendy finished off her infants cardigan. Very even tension and neat sew up makes for a well executed garment.
