iKnit Tuesday’s @7

scarf

It’s always exciting finding another yarn outlet and Wendy discovered  Knit Speak, in Onekawa, Napier, last week. She was buzzing with her new yarn and patterns, all geared up now for her next project, a long line sleeveless jacket, pattern by Naturally. I love how sharing ideas with each other with can be so encouraging and inspiring in your own project.

kirsty

Kirsty’s creation, is not to a ‘recipe’ and pretty clear in her head – I can see where she’s going. Crafting many long scarves with  a variety of colours and textures which will be stitched together to make a throw. Tonight she was working with a variegated yarn and a feather type, cuddly – very tactile. Interesting, I’m looking forward to seeing this develop.

brenda

Brenda’s cardy – a reknit from an unraveled jersey, and she says, much more wearable. I agree with Brenda about the front bands. A much better finish is achieved by picking up stitches from the front edge instead of knitting up from the lower edge.  It seems most pattern designers currently think so too.

The baby’s jacket is growing and after it’s done I’ll have a rest from baby things for a bit. I have lots of ideas for future projects, and now probably 2 vests to make – can’t wait!
